Seeing & Hearing
A Foggy Sunrise
In “foggy” times such as these, it is hard—even impossible—to see, hear and understand what is happening. In “foggy” times such as these, it is hard—even impossible—to see, hear and understand what this coming day will bring. But take heart. We can still see the Majesty of the LORD rising over our lives and over our world. We can still see rainbows of hope and assurance. Be assured. The LORD will empower us—as he empowered Queen Esther—to succeed in times such as these. (Esther 4:14). This is the day that the LORD hath made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it! (Psalm 118:24).
Fog shrouded the view from my patio early this morning. Sounds were strangely changed. Nothing could be seen but obscure, gray forms.
Then the sun began rising.
Unlike on a clear morning, I could look right at its majesty.
As it rose above the tree tops, it became encircled by all the colors of the rainbow.
Just as the rainbow heartened and assured Noah after the Great Flood that destroyed his world, I was heartened and and assured that God will prevail over the fogs that cloak our lives and our world—fogs of peril that threaten to destroy our lives and our world.
Fogs of droughts and floods.
Fogs of blizzards and hurricanes.
Fogs of wars and rumors of wars.
Fogs of hunger.
Fogs of sickness.
Fogs of pain.
Fogs of debts.
Fogs of trespasses.
Fogs of relationships broken by failures to forgive.
Fogs of temptations we fall into.
Fogs of evils from which we must be delivered.
Our Father is still in heaven, empowering his will to be done on earth as it is done in heaven.
Our Father still rules his powerful Kingdom of Glory and Righteousness forever!
Be assured.
The LORD will empower us—as he empowered Queen Esther—to succeed in times such as these. (Esther 4:14).
This is the day that the LORD hath made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it! (Psalm 118:24).
