Visions of America

I Stand With Hong Kong!

I stand with Hong Kong because I believe that the Torch of Liberty shines in the hearts of all Humanity throughout the world. I stand with Hong Kong because I believe that someday the people of Hong Kong—and the people of all China—will say “Free at last! Free and last! Thank God Almighty! We are free at last!”.

I stand with Hong Kong!

For months, the people of Hong Kong have demanded the basic human rights of Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.

In the familiar pattern of dictatorships throughout history, the Communist Party has become more and more repressive as the cries of people to be free grow louder and louder.

In my book Visions of America (that I first published in 2004), I traced the rise of America—the ideal America that was first discovered in the hearts of Abraham, Moses and Jesus.

This ideal America blesses ALL people, frees ALL people, and helps ALL people. This ideal America is not limited to citizens of the United States, nor to any religion.

ANYONE in the world can seek the Promised Land of the ideal America, regardless of their nationality or religion—including citizens of China, Russia, Iran, and North Korea. And including Muslims and atheists.

In Visions of America, I describe how this Vision of America triumphed in the Cold War:

“Ronald Reagan was an optimist.  He believed that the Torch of Liberty was shining in Humanity’s heart throughout the world. He decided to launch an ideological and diplomatic offensive against Communism. He demanded that the Communists tear down the Berlin Wall, the hated symbol of the Cold War.” (Visions of America, at 148).

The rest, as they say, is history. The Berlin Wall fell. The Soviet Union collapsed.

As I described in Visions of America:

“‘Morning in America’” became Morning for all Humanity. Martin Luther King’s dream was coming true. Brave, peaceful protesters had overcome evil with good—even when evil was supported by guns, tanks, and nuclear bombs.”

“As freedom rang throughout the lands that the Communists had tyrannized, people everywhere could say: ‘Free at last!  Free at last! Thank God Almighty! We are free at last!’” (Visions of America, at 149).

Tragically, the brutality of the Chinese Communist Party snuffed out the Torch of Liberty in that land.

Fortunately, brutality cannot snuff out the Torch of Liberty in the hearts of people—including in the hearts of the people of Hong Kong!

As I  I described in Visions of America:

“For one brief, hopeful moment in June, 1989, it appeared that even Communist China might be ready to let her people be free.  Brave protesters built a Statue of Liberty in Tiananmen Square (the Chinese equivalent of the Mall in Washington with its memorials to Washington and Lincoln). Unfortunately, the Communists found some unenlightened troops who followed their evil orders to kill the protesters and smash the Statue of Liberty.”  I stand with Hong Kong because I believe that the Torch of Liberty shines in the heart of all Humanity throughout the world. I stand with Hong Kong because I believe that someday the people of Hong Kong—and the people of all China—will say “Free at last! Free and last! Thank God Almighty! We are free at last!”.  (Visions of America, at 148).

In 2004, I prophesied: “Someday, the Statue of Liberty will stand tall again in Tiananmen Square.” (Visions of America, at 148).

I still believe that prophesy. Just as I still believe that someday the people of Hong Kong—and the people of all China—will say “Free at last! Free and last! Thank God Almighty! We are free at last!”.
