Seeing & Hearing

Defeat in Afghanistan

Defeat in Afghanistan. See the distress. Hear the rebuke. Feel the disgrace. Pray for the remnant.

Defeat in Afghanistan.

King Hezekiah captured the grief of such moments.

He said, “This day is a day of distress and rebuke and disgrace, as when children come to the moment of birth and there is no strength to deliver them.” (Isaiah 37:3; 2 Kings 19:3).

There will be a time to hear explanations and excuses. (Ecclesiastes 3:1).

But now is a time to see the distress.

To hear the rebuke.

To feel the disgrace. (Isaiah 6:9-12).

Now is a time to heed King Hezekiah’s wisdom:

Pray!!!

“[P]ray for the remnant who still survives.” (Isaiah 37:4; 2 Kings 19:3).
