Spreading Light
Meditations: This Is the Day That the LORD Hath Made
Although things may happen today that make me sad or disappointed, I can trust that the LORD is in control of whatever happens to me. (Romans 8:28,37-39). Although things may happen today that make me suffer illness or pain or (even death), I can trust that the LORD is in control of whatever happens to me. (Romans 8:28,37-39). And so, I’ll rejoice and be glad because this is the Day that the LORD hath made. (paraphrasing Psalm 118:24 KJV).
Each day, I begin by meditating on thoughts that spread light into the new day that is dawning.
As soon as I can focus my thoughts (even before my first coffee!), I lift my spirits by thinking “This is the day that the LORD hath made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it!” (paraphrasing Psalm 118:24 KJV).
I think of something I’m looking forward to today.
Maybe I’ll visit someone.
Maybe I’ll talk with someone on the phone.
Maybe I’ll read a good book.
Maybe I’ll watch episodes of a series I’m streaming.
My thoughts turn to the comforting thought that whatever this coming day brings, it is a day that the LORD hath made.
Although things may happen today that make me sad or disappointed, I can trust that the LORD is in control of whatever happens to me. (Romans 8:28,37-39).
Although things may happen today that make me suffer illness or pain (or even death), I can trust that the LORD is in control of whatever happens to me. (Romans 8:28,37-39).
And so, I’ll draw comfort and strength by remembering: “This is the Day that the LORD hath made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it!”
